If 8a−4b=20 and 4a−8b=4, then what is the value of a−b?

first simplify the equations to make it easier.
2a-b=5
a-2b=1
a=1+2b
plug that into the first equation.
2+4b-b=5
b=1
a=3
 3-1=2  your answer therefore is 2.
