[tex]2x^2 + x + 2 = 0[/tex]

[tex]x = \dfrac{1}{8}(-1 \pm \sqrt{1- 4(2)(2)})= \dfrac{-1 \pm \sqrt{-15}}{8}[/tex]

[tex]x = \dfrac{-1 \pm i\sqrt{15}}{8}[/tex]

Two solutions, complex conjugates.

2x2 =4, so now we have 4+x+2=0. then add 4 + 2, now we have 6+x=0. move the six over the other side of the x now we have the answer x = -6
