How do you work out questions with Ratio for example Divide 42 in a ratio of 1:2:3

Step 1: Add the different ratios
1+2+3=6
Step 2:Divide 42 by that answer
42÷6=7
Step 3:Multiply each ratio by that number
1x7=7
2x7=14
3x7=21
Your answer: 7:14:21
